Steamed Carrotcake making day

Oh, we are talking about the chinese carrot cake here.
We have a hearty lunch first before we bean with the carrotcake.

Tiang bought the delicious otah. The non-spicy ones seems to be very popular this round and were all eaten up first.

Fang's sis famous marinated chicken wings ! Really nice ! We snapped up the 2kg chicken wings and BC did not get to pack any home in the end. Nevermind, we are going to have this dish on Christmas !! Looking forward !

Fang made these lovely egg mayo sandwiches too.

BC cooked some greenbean cum sweet potato soup .. yummy !

My MIL's so-delicious popian ! Very good review from friends and relatives ! Our favourite at all times !

Everyone has some fun making the popian.

Now the "hardwork" began ... the making of steamed carrot cake ! Fang has to cut the chinese sausages into very small cubes. Not the more relaxing task here as the chines sausage can be rather tough.

Next, we have BC shredding the turnip and carrot.

Tiang has an easier task of cutting the luncheon meat. The poor lady has just recovered from flu.

They worked hard while I just gave instructions .. hee ... so I got the easiest task of all !

First round of steaming the two carrotcakes have been completed !

Getting ready to fry the next batch of carrotcake ingredients !

The finished product ! You can either eat it the way it was or just pan fried it to get that extra fragrant aroma !

A new look

The chairs were back, with a new look !

The old black man-made leather covering which got lots of flakes just after 2 years.

The new light fabric vertical stripes somehow deceived our eyes that the bench looks even longer than before.

The old white leather dining chairs that gets dirtied easily.

I don't know what to comment on these new upholstered dining chairs. Definitely need more time to get used to them.

At ECP for picnic and for Tiang & Ryan's Birthday !

A picnic at East Cast Park on a Sunday morning with 1B18. It was a blessed day with pretty good weather. Pretty good weather in late November means NO rain ! It has been raining dogs and cats recently.

We waited at Mac Donald restaurant first and proceeded to spot an ideal spot for the picnic. Shaded places with tables and benches nearby have been taken up, therefore, we decided to settle down where we thought was most ideal.

Not a bad spot, at least we were shaded from too much sun ! And we still can get a glimpse of the sea :)

Pretty good ration of picnic food! We did not waste much food! Lovely food prepared by all ... delicious vegetarian bee hoon fried by BC. She was so stressed when we placed so much high expectations and praises for her bee hoon during the last picnic. So for this round, she must maintained her standard. Well, the verdict was that her standard was maintained ! I requested 2 servings served by Ah Leng ! Fang prepared her yummy egg mayo plus a piece of ham sandwiched in between ! She prepared sausages and fishballs as well. Seriously, I don't remember eating any fishballs at all. I understand from Fang that Ryan has eaten the most fishballs ! No wonder ! Lol... We bought ready-marinated CP honey wings which JL thought was nice. He thought that I have marinated and fried it. Sorry to disappoint you but I didn't want to claim the credit from CP... hee. Ah Leng and her mum brought cut fruits and we had a first taste of Ah Leng's home-baked 爱 心cake ! Our Birthday girl, Tiang bought some titbits from her Phuket's trip.

Hmm ... our end results of a good picnic !

Our bikers ! On their way for an hour or so of fun and exercise !

Introducing the first happy-looking biker, aka BD lady, Tiang !

Introducing the second biker who looks very confident behind the wheels, Ah Leng !

Introducing the ???? ... Superstar ? Also the BD boy of the day, Ryan !

Introducing the "relac-relac", "ai-mine, ai mine" looking teen, JL !

Introducing the newly-wedded couple, Fang and Gav ! Yes, double happiness and double bikers here !

Introducing the tall and lanky man ! That's how the ex-pet groomer used to describe him !

So what were the rest doing up their sleeves ?
Ok, we caught the aunties "gossiping" between themselves for quite sometime. I was quite curious what they were talking about .. must find out from my mum. Apparently, there were some 'taboo topics" which were banned by Ah Leng.

BC and Min having a good time at the beach ! And my role was to take photos of them !

Check out the series of photos taken of the lovely mum and daughter.
Min was most cooperative with the sands and waters under her feet ! She generously smiled and posed nicely for the ardent shutter-bug !

While BC brought Min for a shower (luckily she brought extra clothing and towel along as Min was wet from head to toe !), I "targeted" my lens to mum and auntie.

Here goes:

Auntie was shy and not very keen when taking photographs. She looked good and her radiant face matched her lilac shirt quite well.

Mum was definitely not camera-shy. She loves photographs taken !

Photos with friends time !!

Last but not least, a wonderful Birthday to Tiang and Ryan ! May happiness and laughter be with you both, always !

Cousin's wedding on 20112011

A truly remarkable date to get married !
Wishing my nice and shy cousin J, a wonderful marriage ! Glad he is finally tying the knot with AP.

Cousin's relatives from Germany. It has been 24 years since I last saw Norman and Jenny during their rare visit in Singapore! I always remembered Norman who was one year old then, a very cute boy whom everyone wanted to carry him ! Now, we were all grown up and have our own lives.

Cousin's relatives from Australia. I have never met them before but their children are so beautiful !

Waiting downstairs patiently for the bridegroom's car to arrive !

My lovable and friendly nephews who volunteered to "open both car's doors" for the bride and bridegroom ! They have wanted to get ang baos ! Kids!

Cousin's pretty and tall bride !

My aunt who double-up as a "媒人".

My beloved aunts and mum. Very colourful outfits.

A photo with the bride before she got "whisked" away ...

Tea ceremony to cousin's parents. I got to drink the tea too as my aunt insisted that my cousin and cousin-in-law served me. I was totally unprepared for this.

A group photo of those who were present during the tea ceremony.

AP changed into this lemony romantic gown after the tea ceremony.

Now for the formal dinner. It was my first time in many years since I have seen my aunt in a red gown ! Nice !

A photo with my nephews who were so handsome that night !

Finally, grabbed the bridegroom to take a photo !

Photo with hubby

Welcoming the newly-weds into the ballroom !

Beautiful gown ...

Beautiful set-up table of cupcakes and sweets and chocolates ! Nicholas has packed an assorted pack of sweets and chocolates for me. Very good boy !
